Therese Clark, VP Creative Development

Therese Clark, along with Co-Founders David Watson of Philosophy and Biomedic, and mybody CEO Christine Watson, formerly of Harrods'  London, have tailored a unique, medical-grade, clinical (yet fun) skincare  line that is growing rapidly in the U.S. and elsewhere. The three Founders will dialog about the process and principles behind the founding of their company, their brand, positioning, price points,  design and distribution to medical professionals and how their philosophy has fueled both their creative and financial success in today's diverse beauty markets.

Speaker Biographies:

Therese Clark has always been attracted to the creative and business side of beauty, and began working in the makeup area beginning with Girl Cosmetics,  the teen companion to Hard Candy and Urban Decay. Since 2006 she has done product development for several clients including Addiction, Seacliff, Glyderm  and Intelligent Beauty. She then teamed with entrepreneur David Watson to develop an approachable medical skincare line featuring targeted solutions for every body, every skin type. This unique collaboration manifested into the highly successful mybody line, a clinical, integrative approach to skin health.

David Watson David's experience at Biomedic® paved the way for him to found Philosophy®, giving him the opportunity to introduce a unique retail skincare brand. Once the fledging brand became a bestseller, David turned his energies to another project: Revolution Tea. The venture presented a familiar challenge - taking a product he believed in from start up to tremendous success. After launching three successful brands, David was approached by Therese Clark with an idea for a new medical skincare line, one that would fill a void in the market, by offering approachable, customizable skincare. Impressed by her vision, David asked Therese to come back with a more fully-formed plan. A  year later, with a refined concept for mybody, David agreed to partner with her, tapping his wife Christine Watson to bring her extensive experience in the retail sector to the project as CEO. Christine Watson started as a cosmetic and skincare buyer for Harrods Department Store in London. As a breast cancer survivor and a role model to those living with cancer, Christine makes women's health a priority and contributes significant time and resources to different charities and organizations that support women’s and children’s health. Upon relocating to Arizona, Christine brought her refined sense of taste with her, opening a boutique purveying Europe's chicest fashion and beauty imports. After five years of managing the boutique, Christine was ready to lend her business savvy and sense of style to a bigger venture. When David Watson, Christine’s husband, introduced her to Therese Clark, Christine instantly saw the potential in her mission and agreed to join mybody as CEO. (more bio)
